About EquationDB

EquationDB is a market database that does the work before you ask: it computes indicators as data arrives, records the events of the market, and keeps the evidence of what happened next.

Who we are

EquationDB is built by a team that includes former Bloomberg engineers and product people, who spent years building market-data and analytics systems used by trading desks around the world. We have seen how much of a desk's time goes into stitching together databases, batch jobs and spreadsheets just to answer everyday questions — and how rarely those answers come with honest statistics attached.

Why we built it

Most financial databases store numbers and wait for a query. Traders and researchers, though, think in events: a breakout, a gap, an earnings surprise, a breadth thrust. We built EquationDB around that idea:

  • Computed on arrival. Indicators, levels and statistics are ready before the question is asked, so screens across the market return in milliseconds.
  • Events with evidence. Every event is scored for how unusual it is for that security and carries what historically followed — measured without hindsight.
  • One language. A concise query language for the questions markets ask every day, and full SQL for everything else — including financial statements as time series.
  • Built for people and AI agents. The same answers are available in the app, through the API, and to AI agents over MCP, so models quote numbers from the database instead of guessing.

How we work

We favour transparency over black boxes: plain-English questions show the exact query that answered them, AI summaries quote only numbers from your results, and statistical tests come with out-of-sample checks built in. Customer data is isolated per firm, credentials are hashed, two-factor authentication is available, and every administrative action is audited.

Talk to us

We work closely with a small number of desks, research teams and AI labs. If that sounds like you, get in touch or request a trial.
